Syria, in support of the Revolution.

The United States never was on the side of the people of the Middle East and is the only party standing between the Palestinians and their freedom and liberation and always stood the side of criminal dictatorship as they imprisoned, tortured, suppressed freedom and democracy and looted the country.

I too, like so many of my friends on this site, Arab nationalists and all those in support of freedom and democracy in the Middle East, leery and untrusting of the United States and the West involvement and calls for military intervention in the Syrian Spring. Israel and the Zionist agenda always stand out as the only reason and beneficiary of any action the US takes in the Middle East, and Syria is no exception. However we all should tell Bashar his time ran out and he and his Ba’athist regime should go.

Staying Sober – An Analysis

STAYING SOBER – AN ANALYSIS Lawrence Davidson

Better News

There have been two news stories in the last couple of days that have raised spirits and hopes both in the Middle East and here in the U.S. It is very good to get positive news in a world of constant struggle against greater forces of injustice and brutality. Yet, it would be wise to restrain one’s glee. Those forces represent governments (including the one in Washington) and their bureaucracies. In both the U.S. and Israel they have the backing of a majority of citizens. Thus, those of us who see ourselves as actively fighting for the rights of the Palestinians on the one hand, and the protections of the U.S. Constitution on the other, almost certainly have additional decades of effort before a real light appears at the end of our dark and dangerous tunnel. That is why I want to look at these two news stories in sobering perspective.

Nakba: The Truth Will Set Free Jews and Arabs.

Sami Jamil Jadallah

As Palestinians and Arabs around the world remember the Nakba and the forced exile of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian, Israeli and other Jews are simultaneously celebrating their ‘victory’ and the establishment of a Zionist-Apartheid State.

The Israelis and Jews on this day and till today choose not to admit their crimes against the Palestinian people and on this day and till now Palestinians choose to ignore their failures. The truth will set the Jews and Arabs free.

Present-day Israel, contrary to what Zionist Israeli history might claim, was not made in heaven nor was it created by Moses or his G-d. Instead, it was established by an armed gang dedicated to the ethnic cleansing of Palestine from its native Arab people and the establishment of a state predicated on a racist ideology known as Zionism.

Welcome to Palestine

Israeli activists will arrive tomorrow at Tel Aviv Airport to welcome international activists

As citizens of Israel, we feel great respect and appreciation for our international who come to visit the West Bank and express solidarity with the Palestinian residents, living under occupation and apartheid. Certainly, we will there to greet them at the airport terminal, maintaining a presence there between the hours of 12.00 noon till 8.00 pm. We will greet them with open arms, in a feeling of deep appreciation and a personal friendship with some of them. We will hold ‘Welcome’ signs, balloons, flowers, chocolates, and copies of the drawings of Palestinian children from Bethlehem. We welcome them in the harsh reality where Palestinians are excluded from meeting their invited guests and escorting them from the airport – not to mention, of course, being excluded from themselves flying from this airport.

Two Front International Struggle For Palestine

Dr. Lawrence Davidson

Dr. Lawrence Davidson

Part I – Two Fronts

In January 2011, I wrote an analysis in support of a one-state solution to the on-going Israeli-Palestinian struggle. It is the Israelis themselves who have made the one-state solution the only practicable approach, because their incessant and illegal colonization of the West Bank has simply eliminated all possibility of a viable and truly independentPalestinian state. Israeli behavior has not changed in the past year and so I still stand by the position.

Thoughts on a Palestinian conference and more

Mazin Qumsiyeh

In this week in history: Filastin newspaper closed by the Ottoman authorities after Zionist complained (1914), bylaws of the “Muslim-Christian Association” approved in Jerusalem (1919), First Palestinian Arab Congress opens in Jerusalem (1919), over 100 peaceful demonstrators were gunned down by British forces in Baghdad (1948), over 60,000 Palestinian demonstrated in Nazareth under the collective slogan of ending the occupation and giving the Palestinian people legitimate rights (1988).

I returned last week to Palestine after a short, tiring, but productive trip (Belgium, Italy, Holland, USA).  In this week’s message (again select what you are interested in) there are links to: 1) brief comments on a conference in Palestine on strategic options/directions for Palestinians going forward, 2) a new syllabus I teach on Human Rights and the Israeli-Palestinian struggle (with lots of useful references but we could use more input), 3) updated resource of 64 common Zionist mythologies and links to debunk them, 4) a story about a Jewish editor who suggested Israel consider assassinating US President Obama, 5) Attack on Palestinian Human Rights Advocate, 6) Cyber attack on Israeli stock exchanges, and more.

Israel at Peace; America’s Nightmare!

Israel First is too big to fail

The other night I had late dinner with a friend visiting from out of town. I went home and crashed after a long day. What a night it was—I had America’s nightmare!

I had America’s nightmare, and I almost had a heart attack from the shock of the unexpected events. Believe it or not I dreamt that Israel finally agreed to peace with the Palestinians. I dreamt that Israel agreed to a two state solution.

I had America’s nightmare when I dreamt that Israel agreed to vacate the Jewish Occupied West Bank ending its reign of terror withdrawing its army and its armed terrorists settlers. Continue reading

Palestinian clowns are everywhere

Some Palestinians refuse to just sit still and accept their fate as a permanently, militarily occupied people. One would think by now that Palestinians would have received the message loud and clear – the world couldn’t care less about their fate. But no, these Palestinians just refuse to sit still. They continue to defy their reality and can be seen across the Holy Land – jumping, climbing, swinging, falling, tripping, singing, twirling, juggling, cycling, tight roping, and the like. Their nerve! To think they can attempt to live a normal life when the powers that be are spending billions, literally, to cause a collapse of Palestinian society. Continue reading

Newt Gingrich and the “invented” Palestinians.

We all know who “invented” the Palestinians, what we do not know is who “invented” Newt Gingrich?

This is typical political season, where presidential candidates out bid each other and will do every thing they are capable of doing, and since they have no moral or ethical scruples, they stoop so low they become indistinguishable from crawling worms, and are ready to sell their mothers, their country for a ‘fist full of dollars”. Land Confiscation, Actions, and more

Mazin Qumsiyeh

Back to the (ab)normal and unpredictable situation here in Palestine.  I give talks to visiting international delegations, we deal with problems, we organize activities, we attend events including various forms of non-violent resistance, I teach students, I do clinical service, I write on my upcoming books, eat great food, have wonderful conversations etc.  I keep up with the news of my friends who were on the boats to Gaza. The Canadian abductees arrived home. Some Irish abductees were re-imprisoned. Israeli armed guards prevented them boarding planes at the last minute (more at http://witnessgaza.com/).  But the world is outraged and politicians while still attached to their failing positions, are feeling besieged by their own people.  Delegations from Sweden, Ireland, the US, and many others pass through Palestine and then stay in touch via the internet learning and becoming even more active against the idiotic policies of mainstream Western politicians.  Thousands of people are finally saying: we will not take it anymore. The Empire and its servants are pushing for a war on Iran now (after they pushed for an illegal war on Iran) but judging from average people reaction and the jitters in the stock market, there is no constituency for war.  I do not think it will happen.  Racism will lose anyway, with or without their racist wars.
