Nakba and Palestinian Failings

Sami Jamil Jadallah

SAMI JAMIL JADALLAH

Every year at this time, the Palestinians remember the “Nakba” or catastrophe and mourn their failings, while Israel celebrates its independence and success as regional and world power. No one can doubt the power and influence Israel and the world Zionism play in shaping domestic and international policies of major world capital such as Washington, London, Paris, Moscow, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, New Delhi, even Peking.

A power and influence that put the Palestinians and behind them the 380 million Arabs at a disadvantage, however that should not be an excuses for the failings and incompetence of Palestinian leadership past Hajj Amin Hussaini, Yasser Arafat and now Mahmoud Abbas and Khalid Mishal.

One can understand and appreciate the power Israel and its Fifth Column play within the United States of America with power and influence over every aspect of life emerging as clear and present danger to the domestic and international security of the country.

While Israel leadership always had a focused mission of total and unconditional commitment to the safety, security, existence and expansion of Israel by all means including blackmailing, false flags terrorists attacks and penetrating the inner circles of the highest level of national security of Western democracies, the Palestinian leadership past and present continued to be bogged down with its own self serving and perpetuation and have lost focus on Palestine, on the Rights of Return and Jerusalem long long time ago.

Too bad for the Palestinians under the continued Jewish Occupation and in the Diaspora. The Palestinian leadership certainly of the PLO have proved over time that it is incompetent to lead, unfit to manage, too corrupt to have any credibility and simply if not an agent of the Israeli Occupation at least manager of the Jewish Occupation, a criminal mafia at best.

While the British Mandate was meeting its mission of helping and facilitating the establishment of a Jewish State in Palestine and was doing all it can through arrests, executions and suppressions of civil demonstration, the Palestinian leadership of the time was simply inept and hardly knew what was going on and with no vision or focused credible policies for resisting both the British Mandate and the emerging powerful Jewish terrorists groups.

No one can deny the sacrifice of the many who took up arms, who died and who were executed and imprisoned resisting both the Mandate, and the ever increasing Jewish Occupation, the Palestinians leadership like the present one was more concerned with perpetuating its powers and influence rather than meeting the challenge coming from Europe and the US. Simply the Palestinian leadership and the population of the time were no match to the Zionist leadership and the well educated and well trained Jewish immigrants with focused mission to set a Jewish state no matter what are the costs or consequences for the Palestinians.

The late Yasser Arafat was no match for Ben Gurion, not in vision or dedication to the cause, While the latter made good use of close inner circles of smart professional people to help him build a new state, securing financial, military, political and technical support for the new emerging state, Arafat on the other hand gathered around him a bunch of misfit, unfit, incompetent, corrupt, a mafia of self serving cadre of followers committed and loyal to his leadership and securing their private privileges that Arafat was master at dispensing using blackmail to make sure every one is in line and never challenge his leadership. The Palestine National Congress was nothing but a shameful body and a disgrace failing the Palestinians as the leadership of Arafat and his cronies.

That is why after so many years of same leadership, and with hundreds of thousands of dead and martyrs and tens of billions disappeared, wasted, looted and remain unaccounted for, Yasser Arafat and the PLO having failed at every thing (liberation and establishing a state) he and his failed corrupt and incompetent entourage came back to manage the Jewish Occupation as a way to save a failed leadership.

While Israeli leaders travel the world succeeding in suppressing complaint about continued expansion of Jewish settlements, expropriations of land for the Apartheid Wall and Jewish Roads only, and an ever expansions of so called security checkpoints, and constant violations of international law, Palestinian leadership is traveling the world earning traveling miles, enjoying the finest in hotel and dinning, without ever achieving any material change for the people under the Jewish Occupation, with a very speedy rate to disfranchise and ethnically cleansing Arab Palestinians from Jerusalem. Land swap, not the return of the refugees, not Jerusalem is the agenda for continued negotiations.

While the Israeli and Jewish leadership looks after its own around the world, discovering even inventing lost tribes, seeking and enticing such lost tribes to immigrate to Israel, the Palestinian leadership of Arafat and Abbas totally abandoned, gave up any credible efforts to look after and serve Diaspora Palestinians. As we have seen in Iraq, in Lebanon, in Kuwait, in Syria among other countries.

While the Jewish Agency was looking after Jewish communities around the world, the Palestine Liberation Organization as the claimed “representatives of the Palestinian people” overlooked even disregarded the needs of all Palestinians in the Diaspora, specially those under attacks in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria.

The Jewish Agency working together with international Zionist organizations like the American Jewish Congress organized and sought and succeeded in total recovery of Jewish properties in Europe, the PLO did not bother to organize an alliance of international organizations to document or build a data base and filing the necessary legal challenges and proceedings to recover All Palestinian properties confiscated by the newly arriving Jewish immigrants. In fact it stands in the way of such efforts because it seeks compensations to go its own coffer to dispense with it as it chooses with majority of recovered funds ending up in private bank accounts.

Now that the Palestinian leadership claimed a one time success of having Palestine recognized as an observer state at the UN, it promised in exchange for sitting down with the Israelis to negotiate and give away what is left of Palestine, it will not file any international legal charges against Israel for its criminal actions of the wars on Gaza, the building of the Apartheid Wall, the continued confiscations and expansions of Jewish settlements on stolen Palestinians lands, the policies of administrative arrests without trial or evidence that saw more than 700,000 Palestinians guests of Israeli jails. I guess to the Palestinian leadership there is a price for its continued existence and that price is Palestine and its people. If the past is a guide to the future I doubt if Palestinians will ever take charge of their own destiny and throw this failed leadership out once and for all, and give themselves an even chance.

Islam: The Danger Within

Sami Jamil Jadallah

Sami Jamil Jadallah

As if the war on Islam and Muslims declared by certain evil forces within the US and international Zionism is not enough, the so-called “ Takfiri/Jihadist” terrorists have also declared war on Islam and Muslims. Mohamed Imami Kashani, the Imam of the Friday Prayer Mosque in Tehran is correct when he recently labeled these “Takfiri/ Jihadists” as not Sunnis, not Shiites not even Muslims but true die hard Zionists.

The Reagan administration with intellectual and philosophical advocacy from NeoCons think tanks like the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute and in fulfillment of its objective to wage overt and covert war on Communism and with the support (certainly generous financial payments) to Arab and Muslim governments began to recruits all the misfits, radicals and lost generation to fights its war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

The “Mujahiddeen “ war in Afghanistan is and will remain the incubator of “Islamist’ terrorism and the radicalization of so many young Muslims who are now engaged in and are waging a war of terror against Muslims and Islam in countries like Afghanistan, in Pakistan, in India, Kashmir, Somalia, Iraq, and recently in Tunisia.

Assisting this international war on Islam are “radical” clergymen who are doing their best to emulate the Rabbis of Christ time and are doing their best to take over the “Temple’ and every thing in it and are working very hard for the “Talmudization” of Islam and trying to shape Islam and Islamic Civilization’s in their own image of ignorance, and intolerance. Promoting and sad to say “winning” the “sectarian wars” in Pakistan, in Afghanistan, in Iraq, and in Syria.

They have been waging verbal and armed war in mosques all over the Muslim world anointing themselves as leaders of the “Ummah” when in fact they lack all the intellectual and religious credentials to lead such “Ummah”, let alone a mosque.

Any one these days with a shaved head and a long beard can claim to be an “ Islamist leader” gathering around themselves unemployed failed misfits who have been left out and marginalized by society. These so called “Emir” truly think of themselves as “Prince’s of Believers” moving around in motorcades with armed guards, and processions fits for a Mafiosi’s and acting like criminal gang leaders of Los Angeles and Chicago.

If America ‘s war on Islam in Afghanistan, in Pakistan, in Iraq has caused the direct death of hundreds of thousand, then the “Takfiri/Jihadist” war on Islam and Muslims has caused a number far exceed these modest figures. Always directing their acts of terror toward poor neighborhoods and innocent bystanders.

No one should discount the monstrous evil produced by the “madras’s” in Pakistan and in Afghanistan on the radicalization of young generations with no hope for decent life or future. If these young people have a stake in society, with good education, good jobs and good future for themselves and their families they will not go out and blow themselves not for Allah certainly not for Mohamed (PBUH), but will rebuild their societies not destroy it.

In this day and age, ignorant ill educated clergymen have anointed themselves as guardians of the faithful handing “fatwa’s” left and right determining who is a Muslim of good standing and who is not going dangerously further handing down “death” sentences against those who do no see them as the personification of pure Islam, with a “Sharia” that does not go beyond “sex and booze”.

These “Jihadists and Takfiri” leaders and groups are indeed the hidden armies of the likes of Bernard Lewis, Daniel Pipes, Pam Gellar and “false flag terrorism” who have made a career out of promoting and advocating “Islamophobia” and war on terror.

In Syria, the presence of Islamist recruits (Jabhat Al-Nusra) related to or associated with Alqaeda has undermined the Syrian people’s uprising and winning the war against the criminal regime of Bashar Assad.

All Arab criminal regimes past and present have supported US waging war on Communism and now these veterans of the Mujahideen war came back to undermine these regimes and to recruit, poor, unemployed, ignorant and illiterates to its ranks using drugs and smuggling with covert support from Western intelligence sources in support of its international war on terror (Islam).

The Takfiri /Jihadists never contributed to life but waged wars of death and destruction against innocent and poor people and never build a clinic, or a school, or social service centers, training centers for women, believing these services as undermining the purity of Islam and an emulation of decadent Western civilization.

If such people existed in early Islam I am sure Islam would have died in its infancy and would have never gone beyond Medina. May Allah save Islam, Muslims and the world from these evil, criminal and terrorists who are the biggest threats to Islam and Muslims? The great Islamic Civilization spanning the glob was not build by “Takfiri/Jihadists” but built by intellectuals, scientists, mathematicians, architects, artists, philosophers, religious scholars, not Shiites not Sunnis, but Muslims of all colors, race and nationalities. Islam was and is enriched by such diversity and cross-cultures.

Palestine – Fist Full of Dollars

Sami Jamil Jadallah

Sami Jamil Jadallah

The meeting that took place in Nablus on Sunday the 4th of November 2012 between Palestinian Oligarchs and officials from the office of Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli investors and businessmen, mainly those heavily invested in Jewish Settlements, was not out of the blue. It set the pace for Secretary John Kerry of “economic initiative” in lieu of ending the Jewish Occupation.

Contrary to public claims, the Palestinian leadership past (Arafat) and present (Abbas) was never interested in liberation, let alone ending the Jewish Occupation. Oslo and subsequent actions since then can only confirm this. It is all about business and the windfall the continued Jewish Occupations brings to the Palestinian leadership, leaders and cadre of “Fasa’el” and of course to the Palestinian Oligarchs.

The Palestinian leadership never put in place a popular plan (civil disobedience and popular civil uprising) that will help bring about the end of the longest occupation in modern history. Rather the Palestinian leadership is working hard to perpetuate its existence even if more and more land is taken over for Jewish settlements and security areas.

While the likes of Dr. Mohmoud Ishtayeh, Fatah leader in Nablus denounce such meeting with the likes of Rami Levy, the owner of the largest supermarkets in Jewish Settlements, his boss Mahmoud Abbas dispatch his top economic aid to attend such meeting, a meeting that also saw the attendance of Amr Mousa of Egypt and Abdesalam Almajali the former Jordanian foreign minister and Robert Serry the UN coordinator.

The meeting that took place in the home of Palestinian billionaire Munib Almasri was dubbed” breaking the freeze”, with the idea of creating a” coalition of Arab and Israeli ‘Notables’ working together to move forward the Arab Peace process.

Last April 25, 2013 Secretary of State John Kerry announced such plans after receiving the green light from Bibi Netanyahu. The “economic initiatives” is to induce big international corporations to invest in projects in the “occupied territories” in infrastructures, high technology and transportation in addition to telecommunications.

Not so sure how this plan will work when Israel have over 550 different security check points almost every few kilometers where Palestinians are horded like Texas cattle’s as they are processed through metal revolving gates and where many women died while waiting to go to a clinic on the other side and where Palestinians have to wait hours if not days to pass through.

Israel not only hinder Palestinians access to their homes and farms it does not allow a G3 applications and signs pointing this issue went up during President Barack Obama brief visit to Ramallah.

When Arafat and the PLO leadership came back to Ramallah to manage the Jewish Occupation, Arafat unlike drunken Yeltsin, a sober Arafat gave the Palestinian Oligarchs the run on all key economies and went further by giving certain security officials a monopoly on certain energy sectors resulting in the milking of hundreds of millions of dollars from poor consumers. Arafat corrupted the entire economy of the Occupied Territories.

More troubling is the lack of any credible plans by the Palestinians leadership to disengage from the Israeli economy. Dr. Nabil Sha’ath who negotiated the Paris Agreement did not do such a good job perpetuating the overwhelming control of Israel of all economic aspects in the Occupied Territories.

Over the years and since Oslo and with a lack of both a political let alone economic plans, the Palestinian leadership and authority made the rich richer and the poor much much poorer.

The biggest beneficiary of the budget goes to the Palestinian Security forces (35%) much more than the combined budget for health, education, transportation and social services. Keep in mind that such security forces could not and dare not protect Palestinian villages from the daily attacks by armed Jewish settler terrorists. Who come as they wish vandalize mosques and churches, destroy farms, uproot century old olive trees and poisoning water well, all under the closed eyes of the Palestinian security forces established to protect the Occupation and the Ramallah regime.

Prior to the Second Intifada, Israel became the largest single employer of Palestinian labors and the Palestinian leadership was only too happy for being the largest and key labor suppliers of unskilled labor to Israel and never thought of an alternative plans.

The Palestinian leadership failed at every thing it set out to do. It failed at liberation, it failed at ending the occupation, failed at building governing institutions, failed at disengaging Palestinian economy from the Israeli economy, failed at ending the continued expansion of Jewish settlements, failed at bringing down the Apartheid Wall (though it had a court ruling), failed at creating a transparent and clean government with corruption, “connections and nepotism” and fleecing of citizens at the different key agency continue to be the rule.

The only beneficiaries of such “breaking the freeze” or “economic initiatives” are the Palestinian Oligarchs who already have chocking hold on key economies while hundreds of thousands of people remain below poverty lines and with hundreds of thousand remain hostage to the monthly salary and the monthly mortgage and consumers loans.

Not so sure what would be the economic benefits to the people when Coca-Cola commits to investing a billion dollars and who but the owners of the franchise are the beneficiaries.

Already the Arab League is behind such an “economic initiatives” and recently gave Israel added incentives allowing the trade off of prime Palestinian territories in exchange for toxic waste dump. With this present leadership there is no hope forever ending the Jewish Occupation.

The leadership, its allies in the business community and in the NGO networks are the prime beneficiaries of the continued Jewish Occupation and the “economic initiative” is an added reward to a Palestinian leadership that failed at every thing.

More troubling is the commitment made with the approval of the Palestinian leadership that “Palestine” will never file legal charges against Israel for past, present and future crimes.

Aborting the Arab Spring

Aborting the “Arab Spring”.

One thing for sure, the “secularist/nationalists” and the “salafi/islamist” in Egypt and in Tunisia all conspired willingly or unwillingly to abort the “Arab Spring” or what is left of it.  Both are unfit to lead let alone govern.

I am sure the hundreds of thousands of young and old, rich and poor, ideologically free who went to the streets and took down the regimes of Bin Ali and Hosni Mubarak and Muamar Qaddafi, little did they know their hard work is hijacked by “leaders” and “followers” that best can be described unfit to lead and unqualified to govern and take the countries forward, rebuilding nations people and infrastructures destroyed by decades of corruptions, police state and failing institutions.

These “secularist/nationalists” and “salafi/islamists”, and the likes of Daniel Pipes and that other pseudo intellectuals like the creep Bernard Henry Levy should know they did not bring about the Arab Spring, in fact they have nothing to do with it all.

The Arab Spring was born out of the people desire to be free, to have a quality, decent respectable life, free from fear of the knock on the door in the middle of the night, free from fear to go to jail sentenced by a judicial systems at best corrupt, unjust and at the pecking of the president, the ruling party and intelligence service. A decent house and a decent job, a future for their families and a place under the sun.

The thousands who died did not die waiting for creeps and veggie-intellectuals the likes of Bernard Levy or Daniel Pipes to bring about democracy and good governance to the Arab countries. Not Arabs, not Americans, not Europeans want or desire a democracy seeded in Zionist ideologies and corrupting financial and political systems that are destroying societies and nations from within.  What an insult for the hundreds of millions of Arabs to have these two Zionists think they are the “intellect” behind the Arab Spring.

The thousands who died and went to jail did not wait for the “secularist/nationalists” whose failures, in fact whose support for dictatorial regimes in Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen brought about failing states and kelpto-dictatorships. While the Brothers went to jail, Egyptians so called “intellectuals” were heading almost all government institutions from radio and TV to national newspapers, national publications and were spreading the lies that kept Mubarak regime going for decades.

The thousands who died and the millions who took to the streets in defiance of the police and bullets did not go out so that “salafi/islamists” can go out and take the laws in their hands and determine who is a pious righteous citizen and form a nation in their own ugly dark vision.

The young and the brave Egyptians did not bring down the regime so that Egypt can be ruled by “fatwa’s” from many unfit, unlearned if not misfits who are sawing the seeds of anarchy and sectarianism.  The young revolutionaries did not bring down regimes to have the state substitute one ‘secular corrupt police” with a “ religious virtue police” whose interests and understanding of the state and people does not go beyond “sex and booze”.

The biggest danger facing “Arab Spring” and citizens of states like Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Iraq, certainly Syria is not American imperialism but Sunni Salafi terrorists whom in the case of Syria are the biggest danger and threat to the Syrian revolution and uprising and its chance of brining down Bashar and his criminal regime.

Al-Nusra and Alqaeda never contributed any good to the renaissance of the Arab or Muslim states and their agenda if any thing is questionable funded by certain evil forces from within the Muslim world Zionist related mafia, and from drug money generated in the opium fields of “Mujahideen and Taliban” and the cocaine trafficking in Sub-Sahara and separatists forces operating within Algeria, Mali and the Sahara.

Too bad for the citizens of these states, whether Arabs, Berber, Kurds, Muslims, Christians and Jews, religious and secular the “salafi” terrorists movements are the biggest threat to what we know today as Tunisia, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Iraq. These “salafi” terrorists are sowing the seeds of hate and ‘sectarian’ strife in Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Iraq and are committing terrorists and murderous acts whose victims are innocent people.  And in Libya they are the one standing in the way or rebuilding the nation.

Not so sure if these ‘salafis” in Tunisia, or Egypt, or Iraq or Libya or Syria ever contributed money or efforts to building a school, a clinic, perhaps a bakery or social clinics let alone a factory to employ people or sport centers or rehabilitation clinic or vocational schools or a library or a science museum. The only thing they are capable of doing is killing and committing cold blood murders of innocent people and destroying nations with the hope of bringing about a retarded backward “jahylia/ ignorance” Islamic state

One has to always questions how do these “salafi terrorists” get their funding to buy arms and weapons to attack and kill and destroy and to travel the “jihad route”.

These “Islamist terrorists” with their acts and vengeance and their ugly dark vision of an “Islamist” state shares common interests with America’s imperialism and Israeli Zionism in their conspiracy to abort the Arab Spring.

Let all these Islamist Jihadist and terrorists go back to their home countries and let the Syrian people fight for their future.  If America and Israel succeeded in one thing, they did succeed in nourishing and nurturing “Islamic terrorism” starting with the Mujahideen in Afghanistan, the source of all evil and terrorism in the Muslim world. I am sure the Arab and Muslim world would be much better off if the Mujahideens and Taliban’s were defeated by the Soviets.

Tear Down This Wall

Sami Jamil Jadallah

Sami Jamil Jadallah

I am sure Israel will not dare blind fold President Barrack Obama as he crosses from Israel to the Israeli Occupied Territories to prevent him from seeing the barbered wires and the Apartheid Wall. The question is will President Barrack Obama stop at “Qalandia Gate” step out of his car and dare say to Bibi Netanyahu “Mr. Prime Minister Tear Down This Wall”. I don’t think so.

Perhaps the greatest moment of the late Ronald Reagan presidency was when he gave his famous speech at Brandenburg Gate on June 12, 1987 and challenged Mikhail Gorbachev to “ tear down this wall”. It was only few years later that the citizens of Germany, East and West tore down the Berlin Wall without having to wait for permission from Gorbachev.

Some years ago, when I was the general counsel for a large Middle East construction company I used to travel to West Berlin almost every couple weeks to our engineering office and on few occasions I had the chance to travel and cross over to East Berlin.

And what a contrast! On my first trip to East Berlin was on a Saturday late November, cold snowy day in Berlin. As the bus stopped at Check Point Charlie the East German police directed the bus to a stop and with mirrors they inspected the undercarriage of the bus and checked both passengers and luggage very thoroughly. Founding nothing, we proceeded to the East Berlin bus station and again, what a contrast? As if the cold wintery day was not enough, the sad miserable faces of East Berliners told the story. Perhaps the most memorable moment on my first visit was not the Soviet Memorial to the fallen Red Army soldiers but the old woman carrying two bags as she walked the long lonely road with light snow fallings.

On many occasions I also had a chance to cross the Israeli Apartheid Wall, a wall build by Israel not for its security from “terrorists” but to steal and rob the Palestinians from their homes and land, to rob of them of the underground aquifers thus robbing Palestinians from precious water resources and of course more importantly as a way to redefine and redraw the “provisional” borders of the “provisional” state of Palestine.

The Israeli Apartheid Wall is a racist wall that defines the Zionist cultural and moral value system of Israel. It is build to inflict maximum damage on the Palestinians and their properties and land. It separates Palestinian villagers from their land, from their only source of living, it is intended to inflict maximum humiliations on Palestinians by having them wait for hours perhaps days to get permission to attend their fields, if not confiscated by Israel for “security reasons”.

Who would believe in today’s world there is such a thing as “Jewish Only Roads” where Palestinians are denied the rights to use or travel such roads even though these roads are built on land and properties stolen from Palestinians? Not even the Nazis in their heydays had roads and streets designated at “ Germany Only Roads” and where Jews were denied such access.

Not sure what President Obama’a reaction will be toward this Apparthied Wall, a Wall the International Court of Justice on July 9, 2004 found “illegal” with demands to tear it down. The same court also found that ALL Israeli settlements are illegal under international laws. However this should send a message to the president what the “Only democracy” in the Middle East is all about. There is nothing democratic about it and Israel gets away with murder as long as the US provides it with legal and diplomatic covers, a partner in the crime.

Zionist Israel is perpetuating what Anti-Semitic governments used to do when they forced “Jews” to live in Ghettos. Now Israel on its own is building Apartheid Wall all around its borders and not only with Palestinians and creating a state ghetto. However Apartheid Walls even Zionist will never stop the winds of freedoms and liberty when the times come. And the time will come when the people Israelis and Palestinians will tear down “This Wall” even if President Obama will not dare say it.

As Syria Bleeds, the World Looks On

Sami Jamil Jadallah

Sami Jamil Jadallah

I simply do not buy the excuses by America and the West let lone some Middle East countries for non –intervention in Syria. The only and main reason the US and Europeans are reluctant to give the logistical support to the Syrian rebels is the safety of Israel.

America and the West are willing to see Syria totally destroyed, to see not 60,000 but 100,000 dead as long as there is not one single anti-aircraft missile in the hands of Syrian rebels that may one day be used to shoot down an Israeli jet as it flies over Damascus or Aleppo. That is the only reason and excuse for not arming the rebels. Arab and Muslims fighters should also stay out of Syria; this is the Syrian fight, not the misfits from all over the Arab world.

A much-weakened Syria is the best thing that can happen to neighboring Israel. A much destroyed country is a bonanza for Israel, a much divided Syria is a gift from heaven to Israel and ripe to conclude peace with Israel.

By not arming the Syrian rebels America, Europe and certain Arab countries are giving indirect support to Bashar’s criminal regime. Time to arm the Syrian rebels and let them finish this fight, a fight they did not start and did not chose and let them bring this bloody “spring” to an end.

No one including I are calling for the Americans or the French or the British to come to Syria and fight. Just give the poor Syrian bastards the right weapons to make the sky free of Bashar menacing air force and the anti-tank missiles to fry his soldiers. Should the West done so months back there will no 60,000 dead and the country will not be in ruins.

The Assad dynasty, criminal dictatorship and thieves never had the courage to stand up to Israel, even when Israel was kicking the hell out of the Syrian army in Lebanon. The Assad family and the Ba’athist regime were and are the best thing that happened to Israel and its northern borders. Not a single shot was fired since 73 and the Golan Height is booming with Israeli settlements, farms and ski resorts.

When governments send its army and air force to bomb towns and cities it is everybody’s business and an “internal affairs”.When governments engage in daily massacres of own citizens it is everybody’s business and not an “internal affairs”.

When the Shah of Iran was killing his own people it was everybody’s business. When Hitler massacred the Jews in the concentration camps it is everybody’s business,

When Pol Pot and his regime killed over two million Cambodian it is everyone’s business. When Milosevic unleashed his Serbian thugs to massacre hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Bosnia it was and remains everyone’s business.

When the local police and sheriff unleashed their attack dogs and water canons on peaceful Black demonstrators in the South it was and is everyone’s business.

Even occupying courtiers like Israel or Japan or Germany when they deliberant targeted civilians under their occupation its everyone’s business. Too bad it was no ones business when Saddam gassed the Kurds in Halabja and the Reagan administration send non other than Donald Rumbsfeld bearing gifts to Saddam only few days after massacring tens of thousands of Kurds. And it was no ones business when Saddam unleashed his attack helicopters on the rebelling South killing tens of thousands only few days after the allies concluded a truce in Safwan.

The Syrian people are like all other people in the world entitled to freedom and liberty and have every right to take up arms against a totalitarian regime that oppressed them for generations, robs them of their wealth and dignity, jailing hundreds of thousands with thousands simply disappearing forever. All of this was done in the name of “Arabism” and “Arab nationalism” and “fighting and resisting Zionism” as Sheik Hassan Nasrallah and “Arab” nationalist tell us. They said the same thing about Saddam when he ruined Iraq as a favor to the Americans in his war against Iran.

There is simply no excuse by the Arabs, by Muslims, certainly by the Americans or the Europeans to allow this war against the Syrian people to go much longer.

Arabs “nationalists” were too angry protested loudly when Israel attacked Gaza and killed couple of hundreds yet they are silent as one of their own managed to kill over 60,000 and every day a hundred and two hundred are added to the list.

I do not blame the US or the West for their cowardly position on what is going on in Syrian, however I take a strong view about the position of Iran from all of this.

Iran of all countries, a country that rose against the Shah and his regime that called on all oppressed people to stand up for their rights and freedom is so silent. I guess to every rule there is an exception and as Israel is an American exception so is Syria an Iranian exception.

I very much doubt that the Syrian people subjected to decades of “secular “ ruthless dictatorship are ready to replace it with a “religious Talmudic” ruthless dictatorship of ‘fatwa’s” and Islamic caliphates. Otherwise all the lives and destruction are in vain.

The Ugly Face of Religion

Sami Jamil Jadallah

Sami Jamil Jadallah

In the US there is powerful well-funded circles of influential people and organizations with a mission to defame, demean and dehumanize Muslims and Islam. Though Islam has it own shares of “ugly faces” there are ugly faces of religion in all Abrahamic religions even in Buddhism and Hinduism. No religion is free of “ugly faces” and hates speech.

From denying the rights to a Christmas tree in Upper Nazareth by its Jewish mayor, to the withdrawal of “kashrut certificates” from businesses with Christmas trees by the chief municipal rabbi.

To the fatwa issued by Sheik Yahya Safi, the Imam of a mosque in Australia forbidding Muslims to extend Christmas greetings to fellow Christians, to Buddhists Monks calling for murder and ethnic cleansing of Muslims in Myanmar to Pamela Geller and her offensive and racists subway ads. There is always the Ugly Face of Religion.

When I set out to write this article I spent couple of days doing research on how individuals claiming “faith” and how some religious leaders are the one who invoke and promote hate and incite violence and murder in the name of religion and faith.

Pamela Geller is not the only person of the “Jewish” faith to spread hateful and venomous language meant to demean Muslims. Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, the head of the Shas’s Council of Torah Sage and the most senior Sephardic Rabbi is quoted

“Goyim were born only to serve us. Without that, they have no place in the world-only to serve the people of Israel”.

In Rwanda, where an estimated one million died, Christian churches and taking part in the genocide with priests inciting violence and murder.

In Bosnia, leading priests find excuses and justified support for the many massacres that took place in the civil war where an estimated 400,000 people died as part of systematic ethnic cleansing of Bosnian Muslims.

Here in the United States and since September 11th, not only average citizens became part of the Islamphobia that is taking hold in the US with the US military becoming part of this trend.

US military officers are told,” Islam must changer or we will facilitate its self-destruction”. Lt. Col. Mathew A. Dooley, an instructor at the Joint Forces Staff College presented a series of training material that if not racists and bigoted it promoted and encouraged Islamophobia within the military, claiming

” A staggering 140 million people… hate every thing you stand for and will never co-exist with you, unless you submit”.

In France, it is not only Jean Marie Le pen and family that are leading the crusade against Islam and Muslims in France, but the French branch of the Jewish Defense League or Katch, recruiting former French soldiers to go to Israel to provide protection for Jewish settlements.

In Israel, the IDF in 2011 opened its first combat unit for ultra-Orthodox recruits with the first group of Haredim to serve in an artillery unit according to Brig. Gen. David Suisssa IDF chief artillery officer. One has to imagine what would be the reaction of President Obama and Congress if the Egyptian or any Arab or Muslim army establishes ”Salafi” battalions.

Well known Christian Evangelists like the Rev. Pat Robertson, the late Rev. Jerry Faldwell and non other than John Hagee all have made inflammatory and racists statements about Muslims and the Prophet Mohamed
“ This is worse than the Nazis,” and “ Adolf Hitler was bad, but what the Muslims want to do to the Jews is worse”

With the late Jerry Faldwell calling the Prophet Mohammed a “terrorist” with the preacher Billy Graham following suite. Keep in mind that all of these men of religion and faith are beneficiaries of a tax system that not only exempt them from taxes but allow then to collect billions of dollars of tax free money as if the US government is part of this hate speech and demonization.

However it is in Israel where real hate and racism flourish and runs deep within the religious establishment and institutions.

“All of the Palestinians must be killed; men, women, infants, and even their beasts.”

This is the religious edict issued by Rabbi Israel Rosen, director of the Tsomet Institute, were many soldiers from within Israel and the Jewish settlements attend.

Rabbi Rosen no doubt a frequent traveler to the US compared the Palestinians to the ancient Amalekites and quoting the Torah

“ Annihilate the Amalekites from the beginning to the end. Kill them and wrest them from their possessions. Show them no mercy. Kill continuously, one after the other. Leave no child, plant or tree. Kill their beasts, from camels to donkeys”.

Islam is not too innocent either from similar opinions as those of Jewish rabbis and Christian Evangelists, with a number of Salafi Imams issuing ” fatwa’s” that justify the killings and murder of “infidels’ or non-believers and are seen by Muslims and non-Muslims behind many of the terrorists attacks that took place in New York, Paris, London, Madrid, Bali and Casablanca.

The Islamic “Madrasa” in Pakistan, in Afghanistan became the recruiting grounds for the Taliban’s. In Lebanon, more in Iraq, many of the Muslim clergy are behind many of the sectarian violence with Shiites murdering Sunnis and Sunnis murdering Shiites.

There are many ugly faces of religion, claimed religious leaders as Abu-Qutada and Abu-Hamza Almasri and Sheik Omar Abdul-Rahman, Mullah Omar, and with a dangerous trend of many “Salafis” joining the bandwagon with message of intolerance, hate not only toward Christians and Jews but toward Muslims as wells.

We all need to keep in mind that the ugly face of hate and racism and murder is not only religious. Begin, Shamir and Sharon were non-religious Jews. Hitler was an atheist. Stalin was a Communist and so were Pol Pot and Mao Tse-Tung. George Bush and Harry Truman were Christians. The late Emperor of Japan (WWII) was a Shinto, Saddam, Bashar, Qaddafi and Al-Bashir were and are Muslim.

Do Jews Want Peace!

Sami Jamil Jadallah

As Israeli Jews and Jews around the world celebrate Chanukah, which is an eight day commemoration of the rededication of the Second Temple when the Maccabeans revolted against their Greek rulers, perhaps it is also time for Israeli Jews and Jews around the world to use this occasion to rethink their position on peace for Israel and peace between Arabs and Jews. Perhaps the Jews can use this holy occasion to revolt against Zionism, which like ancient Greece is oppressing Jews and Judaism, and stand between them and peace, peace with Arabs and peace around the world.

The story of Chanukah is one of “revolution and miracle” and perhaps this coming year Jews can produce a revolution and a miracle, among themselves, among others certainly within Israel. Jewish communities in the United States, England, France and Germany, the backbone of a die-hard Zionist Israel can make a difference. These communities can stand on the side of peace and can influence governments within these countries to pursue a course that can bring peace for Israel and peace for the world.

Too many people died on both sides. Scores of Israeli died, thousands of Americans and Europeans died, and millions died among Arabs and Muslims. Too many wars for Israel, too many wars for America, war in Iraq, in Afghanistan and we hope no war on Iran. America, Israel and the world could not afford more wars for Israel. Time for the international Jewish community to stand up and be counted among those who wish for and work for peace.

One only remember Jews celebrating and dancing in the streets of New York celebrating Israel’s war on Gaza in 2008, celebrating the tens of thousands of bombs that rained on Gaza including phosphorous bombs that simply burned every thing it touches, celebrating the destructions of tens of thousands of homes, of schools and hospitals, celebrating the death of thousands of innocent people.

Israeli Jews also decided to celebrate the greatest show of firepower Israel is able to produce. Thousands stood near the borders with Gaza, celebrating the destructions of Gaza by their powerful Israeli force and their well equipment army of thousands of tanks, thanks to America’s money and weapons. They celebrated as tank commanders directed their shells inside homes where there are no fighters, just for the hell of it. They even killed the family of a Palestinian physician as they sat in their living room while the father was talking to Israeli television. It became clear the tank commander wanted to make a statement by killing three daughters of Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish.

“Dr. Abuelaish was the first Palestinian doctor to receive a staff position at an Israeli hospital, where he treated both Israeli and Palestinian patients. Immediately before the war he was a researcher at the Sheba Hospital in Tel Aviv[4] and already an important figure in Israeli-Palestinian relations.[5] The death of his children strengthened his resolve to promote reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians.[6] He is currently Associate Professor of Global Health at the University of Toronto.” “ Wikipedia.

Israeli tank commanders made sure they target farmers working their field posing no threats to Israeli soldiers. The Israeli army targeted schools; hospitals and food supply depots with deliberate acts of hate, racism and vengeance. There is no other way to justify the way Israel went about its Cast Lead operation 4 years ago, about the same time as Chanukah.

Israel tends to use past “biblical events” for its many operations against Palestinians. Operation Cast Lead in 2008 and Operation Pillar of Smoke in 2012.The last war on Gaza also was casted in biblical terms with reference to Exodus when Jews were guided in their journey by smoke in daytime and pillars of fire at night. And yes indeed, Gaza was let up with both smoke and fire at the same time day and night, but there was no exodus for besieged Palestinians.

There is such a strong support for wars among Israelis and international Jewish community specially that of the US. According to Haaretz survey during this last War on Gaza, 90% of Jews supported the war on Gaza. While there are no specific numbers among Jews who support Israel’s wars, reading comments in Haaretz, in Washington Post and in other journals, one can see such an intensive support for Israel’s wars and for Israel’s right or wrong.

Perhaps it is time for Israel and the international Jewish community to rethink their position on Zionism, on Israel and on peace with Arabs and Muslims. Contrary to what is being claimed, there is no historical enmity between Jews and Arabs and no historical enmity between Jews and Muslims. In fact contrary to what die hard Zionists claim, to poison the hearts and minds of Jews, the golden age of Jews was during the Muslim empires when Jewish citizens of the empires were appointed ministers and advisors to the Caliphates and enjoyed peaceful life without the racism they experienced in Europe.

Jews never enjoyed the freedoms and benefits of citizenship as they enjoyed in the Muslim world, from Muslim Spain to Khorasan. Perhaps it is time for Jews to compare their status within the Muslim world to that of Christian Europe, where Pogroms and Holocaust took place against Jews. Personally I never could understand such hate and anger against Muslims and Arabs. The conflict began and with Zionism and will end with the end of Zionism.

True there are Jewish organizations that promote peace between Israel and Palestinians and between Jews and Arabs and Muslims. Jewish Voices for Peace is one such organization representing hope, enlightenment perhaps a miracle. Yes there is hope, and perhaps other Jewish organizations can join the marsh toward peace.

On the other side, time for Palestinians also to think of peace, a peace and reconciliation between Arabs and Jews and a good start will be to support a One State where Jews and Arabs can live side by side, as equal, and as citizens of a state for all of its people. Happy Chanukah.

Palestine at the UN; Hold off the Celebration.

Palestine at the UN; Hold off the Celebration.

Time for every one to sober up and come down from their highs. I do not want to throw cold water on the UN vote last week, nor do I want to dismiss the good will of the majority of the world that voted for “Palestine” as an observer state. However time for the Palestinians under Jewish Occupation and in the Diaspora to take a second look at 45 years of a failing national project and a failing leadership and make a difference for the future.

Every Palestinian should remember, Mahmoud Abbas who returned to Ramallah to a hero’s welcome after the UN vote is the same man who with Yasser Arafat and Ahmed Qurai negotiated and signed the Oslo Accord, which legally and permanently perpetuate the Jewish Occupation and created a management company (Palestinian National Authority) to manage the Jewish Occupation.

Arafat and the PA corruption and incompetence and the security cooperation with Israel were the main cause for factional divisions between Fatah and Hamas with the PLO/Fatah aborting the first transparent and democratic election under Jewish Occupation.

Oslo Accord gave Israel a “veto” power over “Final Status” made it impossible to ends the Jewish Occupation, return the Palestinian refugees, leaving Jerusalem beyond the reach of hundreds of thousands of native Palestinians subject to continued ethnic cleansings.

Before Palestinians go out and celebrate it would them good to go back and revisit the performance of the PLO, its PNC and leadership during the last 45 years. Revisit Oslo Accord and all subsequent agreements like Taba, Waye River and the Hebron Accord to see the criminal failings of the PLO and leadership.

While Oslo Accord placed 1.5 millions in Gaza and 2.5 millions in the West Bank under a virtual prison, the Hebron Accord placed over 100,000 in permanent house arrest in favor of 5,000 armed Jewish settlers and terrorists.

Over the last few days I had a good chance to read much about the UN vote and what it means written by many legal scholars, many politicians and intellectuals, Israelis and Palestinians.

Bibi Netanyahu reduced the vote to  “nothing changes” and ordered the immediate building of 3,000 unites splitting the West Bank between North and South.  Israel continues to occupy, shoot and kill, steal and confiscate land, demolish homes at will.

Mahmoud Abbas, (worried about the next pay check), promised he will not go to the International Criminal Court unless there is a new Israeli “aggression”. As if the War on Gaza I and II, the Apartheid Wall, the ever-expanding settlements, land theft, house demolitions, targeted killings and arbitrary arrests are not violations of international laws and not aggressions.

It is helpful for Palestinians to remember this new state was declared way back in November 15, 1988 when the PLO’s Palestine National Congress declared the state of “Palestine” in exile. Now 24 years later Mahmoud Abbas stand before the UN and declare the same state  “under occupation”. What a waste of time? Much much of the land since 88 disappeared in favor of Jewish settlements.

The people should remember that Arafat in 1977 as sole decision maker and dictator shifted the Fatah national project from a liberation and “One democratic state” to a negotiated settlement on any “liberated land”. Hence Jericho First.

Hundreds of thousands of people died during those years as a result of an ‘armed liberation” that never was and massacres in Lebanon that went unchallenged and never investigated.  Arafat and the PLO leadership were setting up the Palestinian people to scale back their hopes of ever returning home and a One Democratic State. Those under Occupation had to scale down their ambition to a “Palestinian Provisional” state under continued Jewish Occupation.

Arafat and Abu-Jihad aborted the First Intifada, which was perhaps the first and perhaps the only credible uprising in the history of Palestine. The First Intifada produced a partnership among all people, among all factions, rich and poor, street activists, intellectuals, famers; shopkeepers all joined together resisting the armed Jewish occupation with stones and slingshots.

Arafat afraid of the challenge to his leadership was bent on aborting such challenge, pumped millions of dollars to Fatah operative to abort the uprising. After Madrid he went into secret negotiations with Israel ending the First Intifada and concluded Oslo Accord as manager of this Jewish Occupation.

Other than offering lucrative jobs and assignments with international organizations to many of the PLO and Fatah incompetent corrupt operative, the UN vote means nothing on the ground.

Israel will continue to and expand settlements and Mahmoud Abbas will continue to ask for a permit to go back and forth between office and his house.

Question that should be on the minds of All Palestinians under Occupation and in the Diaspora what is next and how can the Palestinians continue to trust this leadership sitting in Ramallah to make a difference.

Time for the Palestinians to take matter into their hands. Those under Jewish Occupation organize a national civil and legal uprising that will end both the monopoly of failing incompetent unfit unqualified leadership, demand immediate revocations of Oslo Accord and disbanding of the PA as manager of the Jewish Occupation. A good start will be to burn and destroy All Israeli issued security and ID cards. The leadership should have the decency to return or burn all its Israeli issued VIP passes and cancel and revoke any and all security arrangements and cooperation with Israel.

To those in exiles time to line up behind a One State Solution, organize a new representative body to replace the much discredited and illegitimate PLO and give the necessary support to those challenging the leadership and the Jewish Occupation.

US at UN; an act of infamy.

Sami Jamil Jadallah

Sami Jamil Jadallah

One more time an American administration shamed America and shamed the American people (minus the Jewish leadership and community) and proved itself a client/vassal state of Israel, and that it is not sovereign state when it comes to the Middle East, occupied as Gaza, the West Bank and the Golan Heights. Obama’s administration is once more on the wrong side of history and freedom.

Once more the US proved it is biased, unfair, unjust, hypocrite, certainly unfit and unqualified to be an honest broker for peace in the Middle East.  The US have always entrusted and subcontracted its policies and negotiations to a bunch of Israeli-First members of the White House, National Security, State and Defense Department, and with reckless disregards to the nation and people’s interests. America could never be the fair and honest peace broker it claims to be.

For the Palestinians the decision came some 65 years too late waiving the right to an almost 50% granted by the UN and accepting 12% of what remains of Palestine if we are to count to the 58% (Area C) ceded to Israel by the Oslo Team.

With this vote, Mahmoud Abbas rather than rush to the negotiating table with his side kick Saeb Erekat and Yasser Abed Rabou, should disband the PLO and its Executive Committee as lacking legitimacy among Palestinians and is nothing but a political, financial and criminal mafia.

Abbas should immediately and without delay, disband the Palestinian Authority as manager of the Jewish Occupation, revoke the unconditional recognition he and Arafat gave to Israel under Oslo. Revoke Oslo and admit Oslo as nothing more than a fraudulent crime perpetuated against the Palestinian people designed to save a failing corrupt and bankrupt PLO and its leadership and should sue Israel for the value of services rendered all these years. He and the PLO can keep the proceeds.

More important Mahmoud Abbas should resign as head of a failing organization. The Palestinian people under Occupation and in the Diaspora should now take the lead and take charge of the future, leaving the PLO and its leadership to the dust pin of history. The people had enough of Arafat and Abbas and their team and no longer trust this leadership to do any good.

Since Oslo, the PLO/PA saved Israel over $55 Billions in operational costs of the Jewish Occupation, money that Israel should have taken responsibility for. This leadership has nothing to show for except perhaps several thousands of VIP passes, fat bank accounts for the leadership, fancy multi million dollars villas, expensive cars and expense accounts, looted economy and treasury, corrupt incompetent administration and of course the more than 550 security checkpoints and hundreds of thousands of hectares lost to Jewish settlers. The people under Occupation are much worst off now than before Oslo.

When it comes to the Middle East, American decisions are always held hostage to the will and toxic influence of the American Jewish leadership and community. Time for this leadership and community to make a stand and decide whether it is on the side of peace or for more spilled blood both Jewish and Arabs?

I pray that the Obama administration and Congress to stop funding the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas and his $1.4 Billion security forces with the job of keeping the Occupied Territories safe for the IDF and the criminal Jewish settlers and thieves.  In any case this money the US gives to the Palestinian Authority it is an indirect support and funding of the continued Jewish Occupation. I also pray that Arab countries stop funding the Palestinian Authority as manager of the Jewish Occupation knowing well that every dollar contributed is a dollar saved for Israel. Time to let Israel bear the financial burdens of its military and settler’s occupation in the same way it reaped the benefits of Oslo. Oslo as negotiated by the Palestinian leadership is nothing short of criminal negligence and those who negotiated and signed it should stand trial for the crimes they committed.

I know peace for Israel does not raise money and does not fill the coffer of AIPAC and does not raise money for Congress to buy influence and power over it, but the spilled blood of Arabs and Jews does. Time for this leadership and community to let go, let go of its chock on America’s conscious and freedom, and let America be free again.
